2. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using DiscoverWrite, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age, that you have read and understood these Terms, and that you agree to be bound by them. If you are using the Platform on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of DiscoverWrite following notification of changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

3. User Accounts

To access most features of DiscoverWrite, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate and complete information during registration and to keep your account credentials secure. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, engage in fraudulent activity, or remain inactive for an extended period.

4. Unlimited Reading Subscription

4.1 What Is Included

The Unlimited Reading Subscription is a recurring monthly plan that grants the subscribing User unlimited access to all published Chapters on DiscoverWrite for the duration of the active subscription period. This includes Chapters published before and during the subscription term.

4.2 Billing and Renewal

The Reader Subscription is billed monthly on the date of initial sign-up. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. By subscribing, you authorize DiscoverWrite to charge your selected payment method on a recurring basis.

We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with reasonable notice. Price changes will take effect at the start of your next billing cycle following notification.

4.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your Unlimited Reading Subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation will take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to the Platform until that date. No partial refunds are issued for unused days within a billing period.

4.4 Refunds

Subscription fees are generally non-refundable except where required by applicable law. If you believe you have been charged in error, please contact us within 14 days of the charge.

4.5 Access on Cancellation or Lapse

Upon cancellation or non-renewal of the Unlimited Reading Subscription, your unlimited access to DiscoverWrite will cease at the end of the paid period. Individual Chapters previously unlocked under the pay-per-chapter model will remain accessible.

5. Writer Terms

5.1 Writing is Free

Submitting Chapters to DiscoverWrite is free of charge. Any User with an account in good standing may claim and submit Chapters, subject to the chapter claiming rules set out below.

5.2 Chapter Claiming

Upon approval of an author claiming an open Chapter slot, that slot is temporarily locked to prevent duplicate submissions. A claimed Chapter must be submitted within 72 hours. If a Chapter is not submitted within this window, the claim is released and the slot returns to the open feed.

Writers may not hold more than one claim on the same Story at a time. Abuse of the claiming system, including claiming chapters with no intent to write them, may result in account suspension.

5.3 Writer Pro Subscription

The Writer Pro Subscription is a separate paid monthly plan that provides enhanced features, including chapter reservation slots and peer feedback access. Writer Pro Subscriptions are subject to the same billing, renewal, and cancellation terms as described in Section 4.

5.4 Writer Earnings

Writers may earn a share of revenue generated from reader unlocks of their specific Chapters. Earnings are calculated based on the Platform's current payout model, which may be updated from time to time with notice.

Earnings are subject to minimum payout thresholds and may require identity verification before disbursement. DiscoverWrite reserves the right to withhold earnings in cases of suspected fraud, violation of these Terms, or disputed content.

DiscoverWrite is not responsible for taxes arising from Writer earnings. Writers are solely responsible for reporting and paying any applicable taxes on amounts received from DiscoverWrite.

6. Content and Intellectual Property

6.1 Ownership

Writers retain ownership of the original content they submit to DiscoverWrite. By submitting a Chapter, you grant DiscoverWrite a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and promote your content on the Platform and in related marketing materials.

6.2 Content Standards

All content submitted to the Platform must comply with our Content Guidelines. You must not submit content that:

  • Infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.

  • Contains unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or abusive material.

  • Depicts or promotes violence, hate speech, or discrimination.

  • Includes sexually explicit content outside of the channels DiscoverWrite has designated for adult content.

  • Includes sexually explicit content of any characters under the age of 18. Failure to comply will result in a permanent ban.

  • Includes graphically violent content of any characters under the age of 18.

  • Reproduces substantial portions of copyrighted works without authorization.

DiscoverWrite reserves the right to remove any content that violates these standards without notice and without liability.

6.3 Collaborative Nature of Stories

By submitting a Chapter to an ongoing Story, you acknowledge that other Authors may build upon, continue, or develop the narrative in directions outside your control. The collaborative, uncoordinated nature of DiscoverWrite is a core feature. You waive any claim against Chapter or other Authors arising from the direction a Story takes after your Chapter.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

  • Attempt to circumvent chapter locking or claiming systems.

  • Create multiple accounts to gain unfair access to open chapter slots.

  • Manipulate reader unlock counts or Writer earnings through fraudulent means.

  • Reverse engineer, scrape, or otherwise extract content or data from DiscoverWrite without authorization.

  • Interfere with the operation of DiscoverWrite or other Users' experience.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DiscoverWrite shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or inability to use DiscoverWrite, including loss of earnings, loss of data, or loss of goodwill.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to DiscoverWrite in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that jurisdiction.
